For a village of its size, Tarvin is well supplied with places to eat and drink ranging from pubs to restaurants to shops selling sandwiches. The list below is more or less in alphabetical order.

The Copper Kettle has changed its name and its style several times in the last thirty years but it is now an up market Thai restaurant.

The George & Dragon is an old established public house. |
G. Gunnery & Co were grocers and corn merchants with a business established in 1820. The shop is no longer run by the Gunnery family but it still retains its old fashioned interior although it is run as an up market delicatessan. You can still have your bacon sliced to any thickness you like. |
This is a popular chip shop which, it is claimed, is the best in Cheshire.' King' Loui himself has retired and the shop is now run by his son. As well as fish and chips you can also buy a range of take-away "PIZZAS, KEBABS , & ORIENTAL FOOD" plus a range of English dishes such as Steak pie, Chicken pie, Cornish pasty, Beefburgers in quarter and half pounder sizes, hot sandwiches and children's meals.

| This is a small grocery with a licence to sell alcoholic drinks. It was formerly part of the Londis franchise but is now independently run and is not, therefore a Londis store. The name has been removed from the shop front but it still retains the name locally. |
Despite its name this is a Chinese restaurant . It is not particularly prepossing from the outside but inside it is bright and pleasant and the staff are trained well. The food is beautifully cooked and presented.

As its name implies, Tarvin News is a newsagent and post office. However the shop sells sandwiches, bread and milk along with a wide range of magazines, greetings cards and stationery in general. |
